Cool Runnings (Quick Intro)

Cool Runnings.

Hmm....say what?

Gotta be a movie right? Well, it depends. Don't believe me, do a check on Google or Yahoo (or anywhere) and you'd be suprised that also belongs to websites dedicated to the field of atheletics.

Now if that's what you're expecting, fret now, as I'll have it covered in subsequent posts. But for now, I'd like to elaborate briefly on what the movie "Cool Runnings" is about.

When the Jamaican sprinter Derice Bannock (played by Leon) is disqualified to the Olympic Games due to a silly accident, he envision the chance to participate in bobsleigh modality. He meets the dishonored couch Irving Blitzer (played by John Candy), who is living in the tropical country after two gold medals and elimination due to cheating, and convinces him to couch the first Jamaican Bobsled Team. They form a group with the push-cart driver Sanka Coffie (played by Doug E. Doug), the sprinter Yul Brenner (played by Malik Yoba) and the rich Junior Bevil (performed by Rawle D. Lewis) and without any sponsor, fly to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to participate of the XV Olympic Winter Games at -25o C. In the end, they become winners without winning the game.

Now that's true sportsmenship!
